You Can’t Fix What You Don’t Know Is Broken…
As someone who works closely with both online and offline Business Owners, there’s one almost universal problem I see as it relates to their website.
And to a large extent, it’s really not your fault that you are making this mistake. But after you read this, and watch the video below, you will no longer have any excuses.
First, let me explain why I’m saying it’s more than likely not your fault that you are making this mistake with your website. It’s because, unless you are a Search Engine Optimization expert, or you have hired an SEO Firm that is on top of their game, you won’t even know about this problem.
Kind of hard to fix something you don’t know about, right?
Now it’s time to talk to you about the problem. What I am referring to is knowing exactly what is taking place with your website each and every day. Do you know how many visitors your website gets each day? Do you know what keyword brings them there?
Do you know what links your website visitors click while visiting your website? If you have an Opt-In Form, or you sell a product on your website, do you know your conversion rate for your offer or opt-in?
Why is this such a big problem if you cannot answer these questions? Simple.
You cannot correct what you fail to inspect!
If you want to improve your website, grow the number of visitors to your website, get more of your visitors to Opt-In or buy your products, the ONLY way to do that is by knowing, measuring and adjusting those things that lead to more of what you want.
Makes perfect sense, right? But if you don’t know that, if your SEO Firm doesn’t share that with you, how can you improve?
Sadly, many Business Owners I talk with and meet do not even have Google Analytics installed on their website, so how on earth can they begin to measure their results and make the necessary adjustments to improve? They can’t. And those that do have Analytics, either never look at it, or have no idea what they should be looking at.
So I want to urge you, if you do not have Google Analytics installed on your website/blog, start there. And you may be reading this and not even know what Google Analytics is. If this is the case, I want to urge you to either learn more yourself, or even better, hire an experienced SEO Firm you can trust to help you.
Don’t know any? Get a referral from someone who does know this. Or, get in touch with me and I will point you in the right direction. But whatever you do, please do not ignore this. It’s very simple. If you want to improve your website, you must start by knowing your Analytics, and making the changes to improve your website.
Now I’d like to share with you a video from an SEO Expert that I follow. I can tell you, I’ve studied Search Engine Optimization since late 2004, and I consider myself an Expert in the area of SEO. There are not many SEO Experts I follow or trust enough to have the type of solid information that I find Bill Parlaman has.
And that’s why I want to share this video with you. If you are unsure what you need to track on your website, then this video from Bill Parlaman will definitely help you.
